    Day 1Hometown / Beijing

    Fly with Air Canada or West Jet to Vancouver, and then connect with Air China for your flight to Beijing. Meet your Canadian Tour Leader and start your worry-free vacation.

    Day 2Arriving Beijing

    Arrive in Beijing, the capital city of China. You will be greeted by your local guide and transferred to your hotel. Relax or explore Beijing at your leisure.

    Day 3Beijing

    You will be exploring the heart of Beijing after breakfast. The trip starts from Tian’anmen Square, the largest public square in the world – the square and its surrounding areas are home to some of China’s most historic monuments and government edifices. Then take a tour to the Forbidden City, the largest existing ancient architectural complex in China. In the afternoon, you will visit Summer Palace – an enchanting panorama of lake, landscape, pagodas and pavilions. Visit a pearl workshop before enjoying a special Peking Duck Dinner.

    Day 4Beijing

    Have an inspiring day tour to the world famous Great Wall (Juyong Pass), which winds dragon-like across northern China. Enjoy time to walk along its ramparts and absorb the breathtaking views. After lunch, you will take a closer look at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Stadium (The Bird’s Nest &The Water Cube).  Evening entertainment is a dazzling Beijing Acrobatic Show.

    Day 5Beijing

    Start the day with a visit to the beautiful Temple of Heaven. Then, take a Rickshaw Tour around the ancient alleyways of Beijing’s Hutong – one of Beijing’s 700-year-old traditional cottage neighbourhoods. Visit a family in one of the “Quadrangles”.  After lunch, visit the Wangfujing Shopping Area.

    Day 6Beijing / Lhasa ( By Air )

    Fly to Lhasa to begin your adventure in the Tibetan Plateau, see the spectacular views of 22,000-foot Himalayan peaks. Lunch on the flight. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel, relax and adjust to being 12,000 feet above sea level.

    You will visit Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s oldest and most holy spiritual center located in the city core.  Finish today’s tour with a stroll around the ethereal pavilions and gardens of the Summer Palace, built in the 1950’s by the Dalai Lama shortly before his escape to India, and view his garden throne. You will explore the Bakor Street yourself and a Tibetan Style Dinner and Show will be arranged.

    A spectacular drive along an old caravan trade route takes you through stunning glacial landscapes and high mountain passes to Gyantse via Yamdroktso Lake.

    Day 9Xigaze ~ Lhasa

    The highlight of your full day exploration of Xigaze will begin a tour to Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the most exquisite in Tibet and the former seat of the Panchen Lama. Fabulous murals grace the inner walls of this elaborate temple complex – but the focal point is an enormous bronze Buddha, the largest in Tibet, which stands 86 feet high and contains over 600 pounds of pure gold.

    Spend a full day exploring the mysteries of this sacred land at the “roof of the world”. You’ll visit Potala Palace, a towering 1,000 room structure and former living quarters of the Dalai Lama.

    Take a morning flight to Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan Province. Upon arrival, you’ll visit the Jinli Street – once was one of the busiest commercial streets during the Shu Kingdom (221-263). In the Afternoon you will visit People’s Park and Kuan & Zhai Street, which show very strong elements of Old Chengdu. Tonight you will enjoy a Magic Face-changing Show one of the most famous performances in Sichuan Opera. (B / L / D)

    Day 12Chengdu ~ Leshan Giant Buddha

    This morning we will go for a drive to Leshan (a prefecture-level city at the confluence of the Dadu and Min rivers and located about 120 km from Chengdu) and visit the Leshan Giant Buddha.  This is a 71-metre (233 feet) tall stone statue, built between 713 and 803 (during the Tang Dynasty), depicting Maitreya. It is carved out of a cliff face that lies at the confluence of the Min and Dadu Rivers in the southern part of the Sichuan province. The stone sculpture faces Mount Emei, with the rivers flowing below its feet. It is the largest and tallest stone Buddha statue in the world  and it is by far the tallest pre-modern statue in the world. In 1996 The Mount Emei Scenic Area (including the Leshan Giant Buddha) was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the beautiful Rice Paddies and Country Landscapes on your way back to Chengdu.

    Day 13Chengdu ~ Xian (By High Speed Train)

    Morning, you will visit the Panda Breeding Research Center, which recreates the natural habitat of the Giant Panda, and the Giant Panda Museum.  After lunch, take the High Speed train to Xian.  Xian- one of China’s ancient capitals. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.

    Day 14Xi’an

    Another unforgettable full day tour is visiting the excavation of more than 6,000 Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses and Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Reproduction Factory on the way. Lunch enjoy the Handmade Noodle while watching a noodle-making show. Tonight you will enjoy the well-known Xi’an Special Dumpling Banquet while being entertained by the colourful Tang Dynasty Show.

    Day 15Xi’an

    Visit the historic Shanxi Provincial MuseumWild Goose Pagoda Square and a jade workshop. Muslim Quarter Market will be arranged in the later afternoon. Western Dinner (with unlimited Beer) will be arranged tonight.  Xian Night Tour after dinner.

    Day 16Xian / Wuhan (By Air) ~ Yichang ~ Yangtze River Cruise

    Today, take a flight to Wuhan. Hop on a ride to Yichang. In the evening, board the deluxe cruise ship MV President No.7 /8  to catch every splendid and amazing moment along the Yangtze River.

    Day 17Yangtze River Cruise

    A shore excursion at Sandouping takes you to “Three Gorges Dam”, the biggest hydroelectric dam in the world. Return to the ship and set sail for the first gorge – Xiling Gorge, the longest and the most hazardous one in the famous “Three Gorges”. Tonight, enjoy a Captain’s Welcome Dinner.

    Day 18Yangtze River Cruise

    Begin your day with an excursion to Shennong Stream, which takes you through almost 20 miles of cascading waterfalls, steep cliffs, karst caves, three-colored springs. Return to the cruise ship again and set sail through the second gorge – Wu Gorge, known for its odd, misty rock formations and its backdrop of soaring mountains. Later in the afternoon, you will pass the third gorge – Qutang Gorge, the shortest but the most dramatic of the Gorges with ancient relics scattered along its steep cliffs. Enjoy a Crew Cabaret Show at night.

    Day 19Yangtze River Cruise

    After breakfast, take a shore excursion to visit the Shibaozhai Temple, a gem of Chinese Architecture located in Zhong County, at the south bank of the Yangtze River. Enjoy Captain’s Farewell Banquet followed by a Gathering Party at night.

    Day 20Chongqing / Shanghai (By Air)

    After breakfast, disembark the cruise at Chongqing. You will have a city tour in Chongqing including Chongqing Huguang Guild Hall. Afternoon flight to Shanghai, China’s most populous city and seaport.   Tonight Huangpu River Night Cruise as an optional tour.

    Day 21Shanghai

    After breakfast, explore the Shanghai Museum, the People’s Square and walk around the “Bund” (a famous waterfront along the west bank of the Huangpu River) . Then tour the Yuyuan Bazaar, the Pudong Development Zone, and later on take a closer look at the most attractive place in the city – The Oriental Pearl Radio & TV Tower. Also visit the famous Nanjing Road shopping area. At night enjoy a Farewell to China Dinner.

    Day 22Shanghai / Hometown (Via Beijing)

    After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport in Shanghai for your departure to Canada. You are to arrive home on the same day.
