You will be exploring the heart of Beijing after breakfast. The trip starts from Tian’anmen Square, the largest public square in the world – the square and its surrounding areas are home to some of China’s most historic monuments and government edifices. Take a morning flight to Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan Province. Upon arrival, you’ll visit the Jinli Street – once was one of the busiest commercial streets during the Shu Kingdom (221-263). In the Afternoon you will visit People’s Park and Kuan & Zhai Street, which show very strong elements of Old Chengdu. This morning we will go for a drive to Leshan (a prefecture-level city at the confluence of the Dadu and Min rivers and located about 120 km from Chengdu) and visit the Leshan Giant Buddha. This is a 71-metre (233 feet) tall stone statue, built between 713 and 803 (during the Tang Dynasty), depicting Maitreya. It is carved out of a cliff face that lies at the confluence of the Min and Dadu Rivers in the southern part of the Sichuan province. The stone sculpture faces Mount Emei, with the rivers flowing below its feet. It is the largest and tallest stone Buddha statue in the world and it is by far the tallest pre-modern statue in the world. In 1996 The Mount Emei Scenic Area (including the Leshan Giant Buddha) was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the beautiful Rice Paddies and Country Landscapes on your way back to Chengdu.

Begin your day with an excursion to Shennong Stream, which takes you through almost 20 miles of cascading waterfalls, steep cliffs, karst caves, three-colored springs. Return to the cruise ship again and set sail through the second gorge – Wu Gorge, known for its odd, misty rock formations and its backdrop of soaring mountains. Later in the afternoon, you will pass the third gorge – Qutang Gorge, the shortest but the most dramatic of the Gorges with ancient relics scattered along its steep cliffs.
